Current Projects
“Voodoo Doll”
“Voodoo Doll” will be completed by spring 2021. My hope is to have it displayed at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. Of all the bikes I’ve built, so far I’m most proud of this one. Click on images to enlarge.
“Dangerous.”
Jack Darcy, of Contemporary Landscapes, came to me with an old-school chopper project that had been abandoned ten years ago by a previous shop. The objective was two part: Make the 1974 Sportster engine with a chopped off transmission run. Then, figure out how to cobble the existing box of bits and bobs with new components to build a homage to motorbiking of yesteryear. That is, a dangerous Frankenstein-esque chopper with a 3” open primary, suicide clutch, hand shifter, and a long, raked out front end Peter Fonda would be proud of. I’m enjoying this project quite a bit. Click on images to enlarge.
“RED MOLLY”
“Red Molly” (from Richard Thompson’s song "1952 Vincent Black Lightning") began life as a 1984 BMW R100. Having one of the more trustworthy and iconic engines of all time (if not a bit antiquated) I thought it would be fun to marry the old with the new. It will retain it’s original, dependable and beautiful power-plant and half it’s chassis. Everything else will me modern and highly technological. Note the brand new GSXR 750 front end, custom built aluminum rims, mono-shock swing arm and custom fuel tank. “Red Molly” is a Martha’s Vineyard Moto-Werks special project and will be available for purchase upon completion. Unless I love it to much. :-)
